Remember when I said this:
So, while I won’t be purchasing anymore LaCroix and will be returning to my regular water regimen…
Yeah, I lied.
Despite all my banter in that previous post, I ended up buying LaCroix again. Now, in my defense it wasn’t the same varieties as before. Once again, colorful new objects attracted me to them. As if LaCroix wasn’t smart enough by changing the color of their new cans, they even came out with two new flavors in entirely new cans. These new varieties, “Cerise Limón” (Cherry Lime) and “Pomme Bayá” (Apple Berry) come in stylish skinny cans. These cans, which hold the standard 12oz really aren’t special, but they appear to be special because they are different. Anyways, the marketing worked on me yet again and so I had to have them.
Just as last time, the flavors (which come from the “Cúrate” collection) were good, but not life-altering good. I will say that they were probably the most distinct flavors of LaCroix I’ve had (in a good way). Additionally, I’ve know had every LaCroix flavor currently in existence and hopefully that will be enough to keep me from buying more. I’m fairly good about resisting things I’ve already had, but shiny new things.. not so much.
In other water news, I tried some mineral water bottled in Mexico today. Yes, I kind of had the same reaction, water.. from Mexico. However, it was pretty good, not Perrier level, but still good. I also only got a mild case of botulism, so that wasn’t too bad.
Another day, another dollar leeched by clever marketing. At least I’m aware of my status as a lemming. I think that is the first step in the road to recovery.
Until next time,
